Vici is born to be a host! From the first messages online to a melancholic fairwell at the port of Serifos we had a wonderful stay in her beautiful studio. Having coffee and a great conversation on her terrace, Vici told us the story of her house (a fantastic architectural work with a modern, spacious floor plan and smart appropriation of local materials and building traditions) and how well Airbnb worked for her.
We host travellers seeking a tranquil, romantic getaway in Serifos and we are grateful for their gestures of thanks giving. This is the most visceral and moving part along the way. Hospitality at it’s best.
Nous avons passé 2 semaines de rêve chez Vici. La maison est encore plus charmante que sur les photos. On se sent tout de suite à l’aise, comme à la maison. Idéale en famille, elle se trouve à quelques minutes à pied d’une jolie plage.
Nestled at the foot of the mounthill, a 3min walk down to the sandy beach, set on a lush landscape by a shady arbor with grape vines, juneberries trees, pomegranate, eucalyptus and olive trees, the writer’s home welcomes you to a place of peaceful respite. A real rural escapism overlooking the sailboats in the sea.
It is often called a nest and this was our vision. A 3min walk down to the beach Karavi, next to the lovely little hamlet of Ramos and a 15min walk from the Port. Accommodation includes a very comfortable double bed and a single bed suitable for a child, a fully-equipped kitchenette, a private bathroom with shower, a wind protected terrace
Originally from Athens, Vici disembarked on Serifos in 1980. She promised herself to meet the locals, get to know them, make this island her place, be a local. And she pulled it off: Serifos is really her place now and you may easily consider her, a local. Since 2010, she guides The Writer’s Home & Guest-home to a sustainable place where human contact, homely care and attention to detail are redefining hospitality, and where hospitality is forging connections that link travellers to a place and its people.
