Viki ci ha accolto al porto e accompagnato a casa. Lo studio è accogliente e anche se piccolino dispone di tutto il necessario. Carino e comodissimo anche il cortile di fronte. La spiaggia vicina (5 minuti a piedi) è molto bella. Le foto sul sito corrispondono esattamente all’appartamento. Hands down the best place we stayed at on our tour of the Cyclades! Vici is the most friendly and welcoming host ever, and her home is absolutely enchanting and so quiet you can sleep with the windows open. The little house is tastefully decorated and well equiped.  The stone walls keep the place so cool we never felt the need for AC, even though it was late July.  Also, the beach close by was one of our favourite on the island, not too crowded and well protected from the wind. What a wonderful experience! Vici was the consummate host – she could not have been more accommodating when we needed anything and more respectful of our privacy when we didn’t. The room is basic but has everything you could need for a stressless and simple holiday. It is on a lower level within a traditional stone house so is cool inside no matter how hot it is outside. I was concerned about the lack of air conditioning when I booked but despite the temperature reaching the mid-thirties, I never felt any need of it once indoors. Mosquito covers on the doors and windows meant that we slept like babies fanned by the gentlest of sea breezes. As for the island of Serifos – quiet, beautiful, friendly, idyllic. Everything positive that we’ve read in the comments left by previous hosts is entirely true and the house is just like in the pictures… or better ! We had a really great time and Vici’s guesthouse. Vici’s welcome at the port of Serifos felt like if we’d known each other since a long time and The Writer’s Home sweet guesthouse was exactly as described and what we were looking for – lovely, simple, tasteful and perfect for a summer vacation. It met all our expectations and also after visiting a bit of the Island we felt to be in the right location, in a peaceful place, 3 minutes to the beach and still within walking distance from the port. The garden and terrace were perfect for our breakfasts and evening aperitifs. Vici is a lovely person and was always helpful. We felt being treated like friends and not like strangers. We absolutely loved the island and its genuine character, great beaches, crystal clear sea, charming tavernas, beautiful Horta and lively port. Even though it was high season the island was not as crowded as expected and there weren’t many people at the beach close to the guesthouse. Vici was charming and friendly. She greeted us off the ferry at the port, drove us to her lovely guest home and offered a perfect balance of space for us to be in our own little escape and friendly conversation when we met in the garden. From the beginning Vici was very helpful and easy to communicate with. At the arrival Vici picked us up by the boat and drove us to our temporary home. The place is beautifully situated on the Island and it is obvious that Vici is taking good care of the house as well as the surrounding garden. We had the best holiday in Vici’s Writer Home. Serifos is a special and beautiful island with lovely people and beautiful beaches. Vici is so sweat and helpful. She picked us up at the ferry and shared her garden with us. She gave us onions and yellow zucchinis from her garden, so good. Vici’s home in Serifos is amazing. And so is she. And her lovely dog Sarah. GIOVANNI & VALENTINA, from Spain, August 2014 : El sitio es exactamente como te lo imaginas, una casa en piedra blanca, típica de isla griega, fresquita, muy acogedora. Hay todo lo que pueda servir, y Vici es muy muy disponible por cualquier cosa necesites. Es presente y al mismo tiempo discreta. El sitio está a 15 minutos de camino del puerto, y está arriba de una pequeña colina, a 5 minutos de la playa. Un sitio perfecto para quien quiere estar en la naturaleza sin estar en el pueblo. En fin, si quieres un sitio donde descansar en paz y en comunión con la naturaleza y con tu mismo, esta casa es el ideal ! (y la isla también…)

And Serifos is worth a trip anyway. Gorgeous landscapes and a breathtaking views. And last but not least: Paradisial beaches! DANIEL & friend, from Spain, July 2014 : Nice cottage in one of the most quiet and beautiful island of the Cyclades. It is situated near a wonderful beach (Karavi) and you almost don’t need anything else apart of the amazing sourranding and the intimate beach. It is a short distance from the town (15 minutes walk) and other beaches more crowded like Livadakia (10 minutes walk). Very near (3 minutes walk) there is a traditional tavern (Kabia) with delicious homemade food and a very good treatment (I will miss Alexandros!!!). Don’t worry if you don’t drive or you can’t rent a car. The local bus and the taxi services work quite good and you can visit amazing places like Hora and Agios Sostis beach. Referring to the house, it has been decorated with a traditional style and you feel confortable from first moment you are in. It seems quite small but there you can cook you find everything you need. Don’t miss read or have dinner in the beautiful terrace. The owner, Vici, was very charmed. She was really very kind with us attending our needs. One night we have the opportunity of chatting with her drinking a glass of local wine… It was a real pleasure to have met her and his friend (and Sarah, his dog!). Awesome place!

Vici is the best host one can have: both there, when you need her and not there when you want to feel private! Vici really took excellent care of us, both in providing information and practical support. Her guest house is beautiful, cool even in the warmest hours! Great to return to after a day in the sea and sun. It is one of those places that you want to spend more time in… The location is great! Overall this rental is a great alternative to the mostly sterile and often boring rooms found in hotels or “rooms to let”: this guest-house has managed to capture and recreate the local color of the island which marries aesthetic simplicity with the beauty of the simplicity of living! FRANCOIS’ family, from France, August 2011 : Vici has arranged a very nice studio next to her beautiful house. It is built in traditional local stones, with a very Cycladic look. It is clean, protected from the wind, and always fresh (which is appreciable in summer!). The studio is located 5 minutes walk from the small and nice Karavi beach. There is a very good taverna 5 minutes walk (the other way). And you can reach the Livadi port and the very animated beach of Livadkia within 15 minutes walk. We had a very nice stay there. the island is beautiful, the beaches are gorgeous and Vici is so helpful ! She knows everyone on the island (she’s been living here for 20 years) and helped us in many ways in organizing our trip.
