How was your stay?

Vici is born to be a host! From the first messages online to a melancholic fairwell at the port of Serifos we had a wonderful stay in her beautiful studio. Having coffee and a great conversation on her terrace, Vici told us the story of her house (a fantastic architectural work with a modern, spacious floor plan and smart appropriation of local materials and building traditions) and how well Airbnb worked for her.

The Press

Huffpost, July 2016, How a writer built the homeliest Guesthouse on Serifos. The lovely house was a guesthouse, but it was a million miles from the ‘classic’ Greek ‘rooms for rent’. For lack of a better word, it was far more homely than that. In fact, its every little detail filled you with an irresistible desire to visit—and stay there forever.

Early bird

During July and August you could rent the entire building: the Writer’s Home together with the self-contained Guest-home.  The space was finished in 2000. Taking cues from the Cycladic buildings’ original palette, the result would lead you to believe that it is an old remarkable build, excellently preserved.

Cycladic Architecture

Without ruffles and frills, the simplest builds are usually the most appreciated in Cycladic architecture.  With plain constructive elements, the locals built their homes to cover their daily needs, meaning mainly to be protected from the lusty winds and the strong sunlight. The Writer’s home & Guest-home is a well-appointed feature of the pleasingly simple Cycladic Architecture.
